Well now we continue to do what I am horrible at and what international adoption is completely centered around… continued waiting. Our packet of papers arrived at CHI on Monday morning. Pam finished reviewing them today. Fortunately everything is in good enough order to go into tomorrow’s mailing. All of the documents will be going to Moscow for translation before being sent on to Vladivostock. There are a couple of papers that we are redoing just in case they ask. There is a date on one of the forms that may be questionable. The state police reports aren’t notarized the exact way they usually are I guess. And the search on the sex offender data base needs to be redone. Again there may be nothing wrong with the current forms, but just as a precaution we will get them redone and have them on hand in the event anything is mentioned about them.
So we wait………..

Ahh the joy of the wait!! I am with you!!
Uggg, waiting is the WORST! Hope it goes quickly for you!
Papaerwork! Ugghh! I remember doing some documents over even three times to get them right. The funny thing is that when we went for our court date, it seemed that some of the documents didn't even really get looked at. But through it all the good Lord was just teaching me to be more patient. Hang in there! We're praying that your wait won't be much longer! Oh, and thanks for tagging us. I'm trying to make Clarion do it. :)
The wait is horrible. I'm not sure what age child you are adopting - forgive me, but read as much as you can on international adoption. You are exactly right in your comment about the scars they carry with them. My three were in the system almost two years (ages 9,6 & 5 now) and within two months we were hearing stories that would break your heart. The nine year old started first because she could communicate easier. Seven months home now and all three talk about their previous life. All you can do is hug them, tell them you love them and, it will not happen again.
God Bless -
